Following a special general election on Tuesday, Cullman County resident and realtor Cindy Myrex will be the next representative of Alabama House District 12.
Myrex, a political newcomer, won the race handily, unofficially receiving 1,944 votes (87.06%) to Democrat Matt Glover’s 287 votes (12.85%).

The Alabama House District 12 seat became vacant after State Rep. Corey Harbison (R-Cullman) resigned to spend more time with his family.
Alabama House District 12 represents multiple sections of Cullman County.
