Albertville City Councilman Nathan Broadhurst recently announced his campaign for re-election to Place 5.
"It has been an incredible honor to serve our city and its residents over the past 15 years," he said in a Facebook post. "Together, we've faced challenges, celebrated achievements, and worked tirelessly to build a stronger, more prosperous future for Albertville."
"Today, our city is thriving with a growing economy, improved financial strength, and exciting developments in recreation, entertainment, retail, dining, and lodging," he continued. "As we move forward, my priorities for the next term remain focused on ensuring progress and growth for our community."
Broadhurst listed several key initiatives for the campaign:
- Continuing retail development to support new areas like Sand Mountain Marketplace.
- Developing a long-term transportation plan to address capacity in major corridors through collaboration with city, county, state, and federal leaders.
- Focusing on industrial recruitment to bring higher-paying jobs to Albertville.
- Emphasizing ordinance enforcement to improve property appearance and conditions.
- Expanding streetscape, sidewalk, and road improvements to revitalize distressed areas and encourage redevelopment.
- Improving and expanding recreation facilities and natural spaces across the city and county.
- Updating the city's master plan to manage future growth and ensure lasting prosperity.
"I deeply appreciate the trust and confidence of this incredible community, and I look forward to continuing to serve and collaborate for the future of Albertville," Broadhurst said. "Thank you for your support! Let's keep Moving Albertville Forward!"
Last election, Broadhurst, as well as the rest of the council, ran unopposed. This time, he's facing a newcomer to politics, Miguel Coroner.
