A child found dead after an extensive search in Walker County had no signs of trauma or assault, although authorities are still unsure of the cause of death.
Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said Johnathan Boley was found Friday, his body partially in a pond just two miles from his home off Highway 195. His black lab, Buck, was found alive by his side.
The child's father, Jameson Boley, was arrested during the search on charges of chemical endangerment and unlawful manufacturing of a destructive device. Authorities said the charges are not related to the boy's death.
Jameson Boley is considered innocent until proven guilty.
