ROBERTSDALE — State House District 95 candidate Joe Freeman addressed the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), voicing his opposition to gambling after years of speculation that there is an undercurrent attempting to place a casino in Baldwin County.
“I oppose gambling in our communities,” Freeman said. “It brings addiction. It brings crime and long-term damage and once it’s here, there’s no turning back."
Freeman told the farmers he believes in conservative values, limited government, personal responsibility, law and order, protecting life, and defending freedom.
“Folks, this race is not about politics. It's about people,” he said. “It's about whether we want to continue down the same path or choose a new direction. I'm not a career politician. I'm someone who understands your challenges, shares your values and is ready to fight for you. I don't answer to special interests. I answer to you.”
As a financial advisor, small business owner and former law enforcement officer, Freeman said he knows how to manage money and make smart decisions.
“I support cutting taxes but responsibly making sure that we don't affect our schools or create bigger problems down the road,” Freeman added. “I will not support risky plans that depend on unstable funding or short-term thinking. We need solutions that last.”
Freeman has been endorsed by ALFA, Health Freedom Alabama, Professional Fire Fighters of Alabama, Fort Morgan PAC, Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon and Severance Security Services.
Freeman is running in the Republican primary against State Rep. Frances Holk-Jones (R-Foley) and Elijah Davidson.
The primary election is on May 19.
