As voters get to know Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate in the 2024 presidential race, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), Alabama State Auditor Andrew Sorrell said it’s already clear just how radically left-wing he is.

“I know very little about Tim Walz, but what I do know is he's one of the most liberal picks she could have possibly made,” Sorrell said Tuesday on FM Talk 1065’s “The Jeff Poor Show.” “This is the guy that said one man's socialism is another man's neighborliness or something to that effect. I mean, that's how radical this guy is. He's saying, basically, socialism is just being neighborly. No, it's not. It's a terrible economic system that oppresses millions of people worldwide.”

Sorrell said he was “surprised” Harris didn’t pick California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) as her VP, but he believed Walz was chosen to counter former President Donald Trump’s pick, U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio).

“Everybody knows how important that Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan area is,” Sorrell said. “She picked somebody kind of from that area of the country. So, I mean, that's really, I don't have a very limited knowledge on [Walz]. I know he was in Congress for about 12 years. Had a pretty liberal voting record there.”

Since joining Harris’ team, Walz has come under fire for allegedly embellishing his military service record to the point some considered it stolen valor. Walz has also been criticized for allowing illegal aliens to attain driver’s licenses and promoting transgender treatment for children.
