A man was arrested in Etowah County Thursday and charged with several crimes, including electronic solicitation of a child and possession of child pornography.
Clayton Carl Kelley, 53, was charged with 11 counts of child pornography, two counts of electronic solicitation of a child, two counts of transmitting obscene material and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Kelley was a resident of Putnam County, Georgia, where he was a registered sex offender.
Police began investigating Kelley after the Etowah County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) received a report accusing Kelley of picking up two female juveniles and taking them to a local park. According to Investigator Brandi Fuller, Kelley then gave the girls marijuana and, on another occasion, sent videos and pictures to them and gave them alcohol.
Kelley’s bond was set at $421,000. If he is released, he will not be allowed unsupervised contact with children under 18 or contact with the victims. He will also not be allowed to use a smartphone or an electronic device.
