After WSFA Channel 12 news got strong pushback from the public, the outlet quietly changed the term “pregnant people” in its Facebook post and headline.
The dominant TV news source in the state capital had posted: "Gov. Ivey signs bill expediting Medicaid coverage for pregnant people."
The leftist term sparked an explosion of outraged comments from its own viewers.
Without admitting the error of their ways, the station has now corrected the leftist terminology to read “pregnant women” in both its Facebook post and news headline.

Apparently, the Channel 12 news staff, which made the change, did not realize that their linked news article continues the use of the leftist term.
It still reads, “The new law will require ‘presumptive eligibility’ to cover outpatient medical care for pregnant people for up to 60 days while their Medicaid applications are processed.”
