A Democratic candidate for the Alabama House of Representatives (HD95), says that Democrats have a real chance of taking back HD95 seat, which has been in Republican hands for decades.
“Y'all, I've said it before and I'll say it again - For the first time since 1980 we have a real chance at flipping this seat blue and I say we because this is not a solo effort,” Brackner said. “For this campaign to be able to compete it needs you. I'm depending on your grassroots support to fuel this campaign and capitalize on this once in a blue moon event. Can I count on you to make a $5 donation to help make sure this campaign has what it takes to flip our district and make Alabama a Sweet Home for Everybody?”
HD95 is currently represented by State Rep. Steve McMillan (R-Gulf Shores). McMillan is retiring from the Alabama House of Representatives and thus this will be an open seat.
“A couple of big things have happened this week,” Brackner stated. “The first being I have secured my first endorsement! Keep your eyes peeled for a more formal announcement of it soon on my website and social media. The second is I have been invited to a few events. In April I'll be attending the Baldwin County Eastern Shore Democrats' Candidates Day on April 23rd and the Alabama Democratic Conference's Annual Convention on the weekend of April 29th. And on May the 3rd I'll be attending a formal event being hosted by Coastal 150 in which they will sit down with the four candidates vying to be the next representative for HD95 and endorse one of us.”
Brackner said he wants “to give the people of District 95 a voice in Montgomery and build bridges to a better future for his home state.
“Alabama is in dire need of sensible policies across the board that will strengthen our education system, promote job growth, protect our environment, and secure a prosperous future for all our citizens,” Brackner said. "Alabama can no longer afford to kick the can down the road.”
Brackner has a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Alabama and is a native of Oxford. He is employed in the hospitality business.
Brackner is unopposed in the Alabama Democratic primary but will face the winner of the Republican primary on the Nov. 8 general election ballot.
