Listeners of "The Rick Burgess Show" have noticed that the beloved host has been missing from the program since Thursday, prompting speculation about his unannounced absence.
On Monday, Rick Burgess issued a statement letting fans know he was attending to some family matters. He also asked for prayers.
"Many of you have questions about my absence from the show," Burgess wrote on his Facebook account. "The bottom line is while the show and all the platforms connected are a huge responsibility and very important to me, however my family desperately needs me right now and they will always take priority. Please pray."
Burgess, who came to fame with "Rick & Bubba" along with co-host Bill "Bubba" Bussey, launched his new show, which broke away from his longtime friend, at the start of 2025.
