The Rocket City Trash Pandas held auditions Saturday to recruit singers to perform the national anthem at one of their 69 home games.
WHNT reported that one by one, musicians took the stage to perform their rendition of the anthem. More than 80 people, including children, choirs, guitarists and interpretive dancers, showcased their skills to the judges.

"We have 69 home games, so that is 69 opportunities to perform the national anthem. It is super important that we engage the local community. We want as many different groups or individuals or choruses to come out," said Rocket City Trash Pandas executive vice president Lindsey Knupp.
Unfortunately, the Trash Pandas will start their season on the road on April 5 against the Tennessee Smokies in Kodak, Tenn. However, they will return to the Rocket City the following week.
The Trash Pandas' first home game will be on Tuesday, April 9, where they will take on an in-state rival, the Birmingham Barons, six days in a row.
The team plans to hold more auditions. Contact the Trash Pandas at info@trashpandabaseball.com for more information.
