Samford University is rebranding its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs. Last week, the University's president referred to its DEI commitment as a commitment to Biblical Justice. This week, the university is rebranding its DEI fundraising priority as Student Success and Diversity.

SEE: Samford University’s website has changed — but has its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion?

The change appears on the school's Giving Page, which allows donors to support the school through financial contributions. It included a section for diversity, equity and inclusion contributions until just hours after 1819 News inquired about the total given through the program. The university did not respond to the request for details.

The option now reads Student Success and Diversity while the programs that donors can contribute to support the same race-based programs including Diversity and Intercultural Initiatives in the athletic program, a Social Justice Collection in the University's library, a Minority Bridge Fund, the Samford Black Alumni Association, the Ragland Scholars Program and the Impact Fund.
