A shooting outside Sam’s Club in Montgomery left one man dead, and police have taken a suspect into custody.
Montgomery police and fire medics responded to Sam’s Club on Eastern Boulevard at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Monday, according to AL.com.
Tommie Small, age 38, was wounded and pronounced dead at the scene. Small is a Florida native.
Police charged Tredarrius Portis, 28, with capital murder. Portis is from Montgomery and is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Center.
Police told AL.com that the victim and suspect knew each other. They are still investigating the shooting.
