Fresh off his election victory this weekend, State Rep. Scott Stadthagen (R-Hartselle) has hit the ground running as the new chairman of the Alabama Republican Party.

He announced a vision focused on unifying Republicans across the state, strengthening the party's grassroots organization, and expanding conservative momentum ahead of the November elections.

"Today we begin a new chapter for the Alabama Republican Party," Stadthagen said in a written statement. "Our party is strongest when we are united, and my focus as Chairman is bringing Republicans across this state together so we can continue building on the conservative success Alabama has seen. When our grassroots leaders, our county parties, and our elected officials are all working together as one team, there's no question we will win in November."

Stadthagen's first-day priorities include:

  • Launching Project Future Generation: a statewide youth outreach initiative designed to engage teens and young adults and connect them directly with the conservative movement.
  • Advancing the Party Registration bill, the Alabama Republican Party's top legislative priority
  • Strengthening coordination with county Republican Party chairmen across Alabama

"I want to thank Scott Stadthagen for recognizing that the future of the Republican Party includes the next generation and for welcoming Gen Z to the table," said Brilyn Hollyhan, who Stadthagen tapped to lead the effort. "Project Future Generation will focus on organizing young conservatives across our state, building the next generation of Republican leaders, and ensuring Alabama continues to lead the conservative movement for years to come."

"If we want to build a strong party for the future, we have to invest in the next generation today," Stadthagen said. "Project Future Generation is about connecting young people with conservative ideas, leadership opportunities, and a movement that believes in them."

The closed primary bill has now become the party's top legislative priority.

"Republicans across Alabama deserve a system that protects the integrity of our party and ensures that our nominees represent Republican voters," Stadthagen said. "Passing party registration is an important step in strengthening our party and ensuring Republicans choose Republican candidates."

Stadthagen stressed his goal to coordinate with county chairs across the state.

"Our county parties are the backbone of the Alabama Republican Party," he emphasized. "My goal is to make sure our local leaders have the tools, communication, and support they need to succeed in their communities. When our counties are strong, our entire party is strong."

Stadthagen concluded his statement by emphasizing that the party is entering the next election cycle united and focused on victory.

"Republicans in Alabama have built something strong, but our work isn't finished," Stadthagen outlined. "If we stay focused, stay united, and keep building on the foundation we've created, we will continue growing our party and winning elections across Alabama."
