This year’s official State Christmas Tree will be delivered to the Alabama State Capitol from Bullock County on Monday.

The 35-foot Eastern Red Cedar from Fitzpatrick, Alabama, will be displayed on the Front Steps of the Alabama State Capitol. The tree will be decorated throughout the week. On the evening of Friday, Dec. 3, Gov. Kay Ivey will hold the annual State Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

According to the governor’s office, the tree will be transported from Bullock County and is expected to arrive between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., with delivery likely to occur around noon.

The annual Alabama State Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is a large event in Montgomery, with families coming from miles around to attend the event and share in the wonders of the Christmas season with the governor.
