State Rep. James Lomax (R-Huntsville) has secured an endorsement from the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA) in the state's upcoming House District 20 race. The district, one of Alabama's fastest-growing, sprawls across southeast Huntsville.
“Rep. Lomax works hard and represents the people of this district well,” said Charles Butler, president of the Madison County Farmers Federation. “We have complete confidence he will continue to be a strong conservative voice for us in Montgomery as he has been in the past.”
Lomax expressed gratitude for the show of support from ALFA.
“I appreciate the support of Madison County farmers because we share the same conservative values and principles,” said Lomax. “Agriculture is a vital component to our state’s economic success, and it is an honor to have the support of our farmers in Madison County.”
In the House of Representatives, Lomax serves on the Economic Development and Tourism; Ethics and Campaign Finance; Financial Services; Ports, Waterways and Intermodal Transit; and Rules Committees.
Outside of politics, Lomax is the vice president of Corporate Office Properties Trust, where he has helped develop more than 1 million square feet of commercial space in north Alabama.
The Republican primary election is set for May 19, 2026.
The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state’s largest farm organization, representing over 360,000 member families across all 67 Alabama counties.
