Calling it the honor of a lifetime to serve Alabama's 25th District, State Rep. Phillip Rigsby (R-Huntsville) announced Tuesday that he is running to retain the office he first won in 2022. In a press release, the legislator promised to continue upholding conservative values and advocating for the district's residents if reelected.
“Together, we’ve made great progress, but there is still more work to do," Rigsby said. "I’m running for reelection because I believe in the future of our state, and I’m committed to continuing the fight for better roads, strong schools, lower taxes, a secure border and unwavering support for our military, first responders, veterans, and working families."
“As I seek to continue serving, I remain grounded in my faith, guided by my convictions, and committed to the people I represent. I ask for your prayers, your support, and your vote,” he added.
According to his campaign, since entering office, Rigsby has "built a strong record of service" and supported legislation to improve public safety and healthcare access. The lawmaker has also worked to protect parental rights and spur economic growth in the North Alabama region.
Recently, Rigsby was selected as the vice chair of the PTSD on the First Responders Joint Interim Study Commission and the Co-Chair of the Rural Roadmap Initiative Subcommittee on Rural Healthcare.
Outside of the state legislature, Rigsby is a pharmacist, small business owner, elder in his church, and a volunteer fire department chaplain.
The election for Alabama House District 25 will take place in November 2026.
