A report out of Barcelona suggests police are reviewing surveillance video in the disappearance of a University of Alabama student.
James Paul Gracey, 20, of Elmhurst, Ill., was last seen at the popular nightclub, Shoko Barcelona, in the Olympic Village area, according to a report by Gisela Macedo. Gracey, who was traveling with a friend, decided to stay at the club after his friend returned to their Airbnb. Surveillance footage shows Gracey leaving with at least one other person, according to the report, though the video has not been released to the public.
Gracey’s mother, Therese Gracey, claims authorities located her son’s cell phone. Authorities in Barcelona have not confirmed that claim.
Investigators are taking the disappearance seriously, and according to Macedo, they believe there is more to the case.
Gracey was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants. He wears a gold chain with a rhinestone cross, his mother said.

The University of Alabama stated it has been in contact with Gracey’s family.
The area where Gracey was last seen is a waterfront tourist destination built in the Sant Marti district for the 1992 Olympic Games.
