Shota Khazhalia was arrested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office last week. His bail was initially set at $500,000. However, he has since been placed on a detainer by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which is done when someone is suspected of being in the country illegally.

Information on the quantity of fentanyl was not immediately available, and the Madison County Sheriff’s office did not immediately respond to 1819 News.

In his affidavit of indigency, Khazhalia listed an address in Brooklyn, New York.
