A 16-year-old from Theodore was killed over the weekend when a house in Louisiana exploded.
The incident happened Saturday in Ragley, about 20 miles north of Lake Charles.
Deuce Barrere, 16, was killed. His mother and older sister were severely injured. Two others were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Fire investigators are unsure what caused the explosion, but people nearby said it rocked their homes and caused power outages. Some thought there had been an earthquake.
The house was leveled, and firefighters said it was on fire when they arrived on the scene. Flying debris damaged nearby vehicles and a metal outbuilding.
Barrere was a junior at Theodore High School.
