From Michigan to New York, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) recently took Democrats to task for their embrace of far-left, socialist candidates.

On Thursday, Britt said on Fox News Channel's "Hannity" that the Democratic Party has lost its way and is now "beholden" to radicals who don't have America's best interests at heart.

"I think what we are seeing is beyond alarming, and I think the Democratic Party has been taken over by the far left, by the Democratic Socialists of America, and what we find is the common thread between all of them is that they actually hate America," Britt said. "When you look at the policies they are putting forth — their policies that ultimately take away our freedoms — they create dependency on government."

Britt explained how Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed shied away from mentioning the death of Iran's ayatollah out of fear it would upset some of his constituents, and how Darializa Avila Chevalier, the Democratic congressional nominee for New York's 13th Congressional District, disrespected the American flag.

She continued, "I was in Fort Rucker, Alabama today, where we were with our brave servicemen and women, and I can tell you one thing: the man who was responsible, the ayatollah, for terror all across the globe, but in particular has Americans' blood on their hands, any candidate should be able to say that we are glad that they are no longer here. These candidates can't say they love America. You saw the candidate there in New York say that instead of using a napkin, she wiped her hands on the American flag. It's disgusting and despicable.

"I think we have to call them out for what they are, and we have to realize that the Democratic Party is completely and totally lost and it's beholden to the socialists of America. It's a sad day."
