FAIRHOPE — Representatives from Thomas Hospital presented an update on their Infirmary Health facilities.
Chief operating officer Lee Ann Cain said the hospital has invested in an intensivist program to ensure intensive care units have immediate access to physicians.
A new medical building in the Malbis community is on track to open in August.
"It's going to have everything that you need there, a breast center that'll be there, some new CT and a new MRI," Cain said. "So, that'd be nice. It will add CT capacity across the county. Any of you guys who have had to have a CT or an MRI know that you kind of usually have to wait on that, but this will give us some added capacity. We're excited about that."
The new patient tower at Thomas Hospital will open in mid-July and will include a helicopter pad. Cain said the tower will improve the quality of life and the quality of care for people in Baldwin County.
The hospital is conducting a parking study to add new spaces to the parking lot and analyze the feasibility of a parking garage. She encouraged patients to take advantage of the hospital's shuttle service.
