The best prime rib in Alabama comes from The Tin Top Restaurant and Oyster Bar in Bon Secour, according to Mashed.

The online national food blog listed the best prime rib in every state.

“Head to The Tin Top Restaurant & Oyster Bar in Bon Secour for an outstanding prime rib worthy of planning your entire week around,” Mashed published. “This Friday Special is a premium-aged 14-ounce prime rib served with au jus, horseradish sauce, and two sides. You might even leave thinking it's the best you've ever had.”

Tin Top owner Bob Hallmark told 1819 News he was thankful to see his hard work paying off.

“Honored would be an understatement,” said Hallmark. “This is very humbling. In another sense, it’s sort of satisfying after all these years to get there. Everything we win is always very nice, but to be voted best in the state is great.”

Hallmark said the secret to having the best prime rib is aging the beef for 10 to 12 weeks, using a special rub and slow-cooking it in a special oven.

The Tin Top Restaurant and Oyster Bar has a long menu, but the prime rib is only available on Friday nights.

The restaurant is located on the water at 17451 County Rd 49 S, Bon Secour.
