Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntsville is making changes at its child development center following the arrest of an employee for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12 years old.
The suspect, Cameron K. White, 24, allegedly engaged in inappropriate contact with at least two children during his time at the development center. Both cases of abuse took place on campus.
According to a local news source, the church sent a letter to parents announcing the following changes:
- A police presence outside the school, arranged thoughtfully to provide protection without creating fear or intimidation for children
- An increased student-to-teacher ratio, with a goal of three teachers present at all times and no fewer than two teachers at any time
- All classrooms relocated to the front main hallway to enhance visibility and access
- A dedicated floater walking the halls throughout the day, providing additional supervision and support
White has been charged with two counts of sexual abuse and is currently being held in Madison County Jail without bond.
Two daycare administrators were also placed on leave following White's arrest.
