Former U.S. Senate candidate Morgan Murphy is touting his decision to drop out of the race after candidates endorsed by President Donald Trump swept the field in multiple state primaries on Tuesday, including Alabama.
Murphy dropped out of the Senate race after Trump endorsed U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), who received the most votes and advanced to a runoff against Jared Hudson.
Trump made endorsements in several other key Alabama races, including U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) for governor, John Wahl for lieutenant governor, and the reelection bids of U.S. Reps. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville), Mike Rogers (R-Saks) and Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville).
All of Trump's state picks ended the primary election on top of the ballot, either winning the Republican nomination outright or advancing to a June runoff.

Murphy took to Twitter to express his vindication in leaving the race, after Trump's picks went 37-0 in primary elections across the country.
And people wondered why I got out of the Alabama senate race when the leader of our party endorsed @BMooreSenate. https://t.co/4ANa4V3byA
