U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) expects it to be "standing room only" on Wednesday evening at Auburn University, where he is scheduled to speak at a Turning Point USA event.
The former Auburn football coach will be joined by fellow speakers Benny Johnson and Eric and Laura Trump as they continue TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk's college campus tour. Kirk was assassinated on the second stop of the tour at Utah Valley University in September.
"This Turning Point event was scheduled back in July, and I was supposed to introduce Charlie [Kirk]," Tuberville said Tuesday on Real America's Voice's "Just the News, No Noise." "And we all know what happened a couple of months ago. He lost his life to a mad murderer, and here we are. But his legacy goes on. It's growing as we speak."
He continued, "Charlie was teaching the truth to young kids on college campuses. That's what this was all about. They didn't want him to tell the truth. He was breaking a lot of these young people out of this indoctrination syndrome that a lot of these universities have caused. This one young man took it that he needed to be stopped. Unfortunately, this happened. It is a tragedy."
Tuberville said he hopes to have a "very lively" discussion with the students at the event.
Tickets are available online.
