U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) told "The Cats Roundtable with John Catsimatidis" that one thing bothering him Sunday morning was the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Tuberville said he believed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was trying to draw NATO and the United States deeper into the conflict with Ukraine's surprise drone attack on Russia last week.
"There's no doubt, because he can't win this war on his own. He knows he's losing. And what better way to escalate this than to make your own attack into Russia," Tuberville said.
He continued, "What they did is they drove trucks 2,000 miles into Russia. They had drones that were covered up in the back of these trucks. They got close to the target, opened up these trucks. Drones flew out and destroyed somewhere around 40 major airplanes that work on the, that Russia uses to in their nuclear arsenal. So it was devastating. But again, both sides are at fault. Let's get this thing over with. And President Trump's the one that can get it done."
Tuberville placed a significant portion of the blame on Zelenskyy for the ongoing violence and hostilities.
"Zelenskyy is a dictator, and he's created all [sorts] of problems. We've got a lot of money that's been missing, and no telling where it's gone," Tuberville said. "But at the end of the day, there's so many people getting killed and maimed in these attacks, John. It's just way out of control. But the Biden administration allowed it to happen. It really escalated the last couple of years. And my God, it would be devastating… It's just devastating to the world.[I]t has ransacked Ukraine and even Russia. There's going to be a lot of bad blood for a long time. But the one guy that I feel strongly about to get this thing done is Donald J. Trump."
