That escalated quickly.

Things got a little testy between U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Danish Ambassador to the United States Jesper Moller Sorenson ahead of Vice President J.D. Vance and wife Usha's trip to Greenland on Friday.

President Donald Trump has suggested Greenland, an autonomous territory in Denmark, would have a brighter future under American control. Not surprisingly, Danish leaders aren't thrilled about Vance's upcoming visit.

Tuberville said during an interview on Fox Business's Kudlow on Monday that Trump's interest in Greenland was "all about national security but it's as much about for the people of Greenland as anything."

Sorenson replied to Tuberville on X on Tuesday, "With all due respect @SenTuberville - you simply got this wrong. You have to revisit your facts on Greenland, including what the people want."

"It is not respectful to send a delegation of senior officials at this time, when the Greenlandic politicians say that they do not want this visit," Sorenson said. "And by the way - Greenland is very good for your health!"

Tuberville replied, "With all due respect, Mr. Ambassador – THE PEOPLE, not the politicians, invited the Second Family and U.S. representatives to visit."

"Rest assured, President Trump will do what's best for America's national security AND for Greenland's people," Tuberville said. "Thank you for your irrelevant opinion."
