It was former President Ronald Reagan, who as the 1980 Republican Party presidential nominee dealt the knockout blow against then-President Jimmy Carter in a presidential debate asking, "Are you better off than you were four years ago?"

While it has not been four years for President Joe Biden, the sentiment about his presidency is apparent for many after just one year.

During an interview with Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5's "Mobile Mornings," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) hammered the Biden administration for not having made any progress in improving American's standard of living through policy.

"The Democratic Party is scared of their shadow," Tuberville said. "I mean, they are absolutely scared of Americans. They're scared of Republicans. They think Republicans are people who are not on their team, which we're not. We're on America's team. We want everybody to have a fair and enjoyable country."

"You know, there's not one American who is better off in this country today than they were this time last year because of Joe Biden's policies," Tuberville continued. "We've got more crime. We've got dangerous streets, We've got dangerous borders. We've got higher taxes, higher prices. Energy policies are just an absolute disaster. We all know that. Our education is getting worse with all the CRT, mask and vaccine mandates. Drugs are killing hundreds of thousands of people in our country a year now because of drugs coming across the border."
