U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) recently defended former President Donald Trump and highlighted the national media's concerted effort to support presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump has come under a media firestorm recently for questioning the racial flip-flopping of Harris in her political career. During a Wednesday interview at the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago, Trump called attention to Harris's running as an Indian-American during her Senate run but then claiming to be black after being selected as President Joe Biden's running mate in 2020.

Since Wednesday, the national media have zeroed in on Trump's comments, claiming he was lying or blatantly racist.

In a video posted to X, Tuberville accused the national media of helping prop up Harris's presumptive presidential campaign by avoiding discussing her record while hyper-focusing on Trump's every word.

"If you don't know by now, the mainstream media is the enemy of the people," Tuberville said. "The corrupt media is comprised of radical, liberal operatives disguised as journalists, and they are colluding with the Democrats to try to influence this election any way they can. They are obsessively talking about the latest thing President Trump said because they are desperate, desperate to avoid talking about Kamala Harris's terrible record on policies."

He continued, "Since the evil corporate media is lying to you, let me tell you a few true facts about Kamala Harris. Since she was crowned border czar in 2021, she has let more than 10 million illegal immigrants invade our country, including murderers, terrorists, rapist and drug dealers. The media wants to act like this wasn't her fault. But she has a long record of being soft on the border and soft on crime. She said in 2019 she wants to decriminalize border crossings. She said she wants to reimagine public safety and supports defunding the police. She wants to abolish ICE, and she wants to give free healthcare to illegal immigrants. Kamala's vision will be the end of America and the American dream as we know it."

"And the media will always cover for her. So, they've whipped everyone into a frenzy, doing everything they can to cast President Trump in a bad light. Here's the truth: our country is suffering. It has a terminal illness. Our country is in trouble. If you were diagnosed with cancer, you would immediately go out and find the best doctor you can find. Right now, our country needs the best of the best. We need a leader that can save us. A leader that is going to heal America not harm America. I have faith that Americans will make the right choice despite the media's best efforts to hide the truth about Kamala Harris," Tuberville added.
