The U.S. and Israeli militaries have struck over 1,000 Iranian targets as part of Operation Epic Fury, but U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) warned that the "big wave" is yet to come.

In a Monday interview with Newsmax's "The Big Take," Tuberville said to expect bombings in Iran to ramp up in the coming days.

"The big wave hasn't come yet. So I would suggest that the people of Iran, buckle your seat belts because here we come," he said.

He continued, "There's no doubt [more bombing is coming], unless they come to some kind of agreement. But he's [Trump] not going to start something he's not going to finish. And this has been coming for a long time. He's warned them that it was coming… The president's been saying all along that, you know, when we do get into a fight with Iran, it's going to be a lot longer than a one or two-day fight.

Tuberville expressed his condolences for the six U.S. servicemen killed recently during the conflict, but noted that it was a stark reality of war.

"This is war. It's going to get worse before it gets better. But I'm telling you who's going to win this war. United States of America is going to win this war," he said. "... Our military people know what they're getting into. They're well-trained and well-equipped. Unfortunately, this just happens. And again, we lost three airplanes yesterday. Luckily, we didn't lose any lives. But again, this has just started. We're in what 60 hours of this war? And we're going to go many, many more days."

The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on a war powers act later this week, as Democrats and some Republicans question the president's authority to involve the U.S. in a conflict with Iran without congressional approval.

"They're [Democrats] going to complain about it. They have nothing else. They have no plan themselves. So they're just going to complain about anything President Trump does," Tuberville said.
