House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) endorsed former U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) on Monday for Congressional District 1.
The special congressional primary for District 1 is scheduled for August 11. Other Republican candidates in the race include Lucas Burger, John Mills and Austin Sidwell.
Johnson said on X on Monday, “Jerry Carl is a proven conservative leader who will once again help us continue to deliver safe streets, secure borders, a strong economy, and peace through strength.”
