According to U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), the thousands of flight delays and cancellations Wednesday were the result of the Biden administration making a “total disaster of hiring people based on certain categories they may fit in and not qualifications."

The trouble stemmed from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) safety system, which had failed due to a "damaged database file," the Associated Press reported.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said during a news conference that the problems “led to a ground stop because of the way safety information was moving through the system.” He said his agency would look into what led to the system failure to prevent something similar from happening again.

In an interview with Newsmax on Wednesday, Moore gave his perspective on the issue. “When you go woke…you’re going to go broke, and we’re seeing our system broken in transportation,” he said.

"We know if we go woke, we go broke," Moore said in the interview. "As you said, Mayor Pete was on vacation … Actually, he was on paternity leave when we had all these ships off-shore in California waiting for those goods to be shipped in. Over the holidays, when we had a shutdown, he was on vacation, and like you said earlier: at least he's at work. I think you're right that a lot of times with this crowd, it's more about symbolism over substance. We need to be fixing systems and have people at work showing up to do the job and make sure that we're focusing on hiring people that are qualified to do the job."

"I was talking to my brother this morning. He's an airline pilot," he continued. "This NOTAM system is a very important system. That just notifies them when they're taking off, 'Hey, these are the issues with runways. There might be a crane in the flight path as you're on approach.' There's a lot of things that come into play, and we really need people focusing on their job. This administration has made a total disaster of hiring people based on certain categories they may fit in and not qualifications. When you go woke like I said earlier, you're going to go broke, and we're seeing our system broken in transportation."

Yesterday's airline problems were the second round of such cancellations and delays. Southwest Airlines canceled thousands of flights over the holidays.
