U.S. Reps. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) and Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) joined the chorus of voices condemning President Joe Biden's comments referring to former President Donald Trump's supporters as "garbage."
With the presidential election less than one week away, Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris's campaigns have exchanged dueling rhetorical blows in the past few days, sparking outrage among one another's supporters.
During a Monday rally at New York City's Madison Square Garden, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe jokingly referred to Puerto Rico as an "island of garbage." The Harris campaign and those in the mainstream media swiftly latched on to the joke with fervor, using the joke to once again foster accusations of racism against Trump.
On Tuesday, Biden appeared at a virtual Harris rally to remark, "The only garbage I see floating out there is [Trump's] supporters."
Republicans and Democrats alike have denounced Biden's remarks, including some from Alabama's federal delegation.

In response to Biden's statements, Moore leaned on his past experience as a garbage man, saying, "The real garbage is the policies of the Biden-Harris Administration."
Echoing U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), Strong painted the president's comments as indicative of the general sentiment of how "liberal elites" view the average working American.
