University of Alabama’s fall 2024 total enrollment was 40,846, surpassing 40,000 for the first time.
University of Alabama’s total in-state enrollment increased 4.7% from fall 2023 to 46.4%.
The enrollment total also includes 3,434 freshmen from Alabama. In-state first-time undergraduates increased 7.9% in fall 2024 from 38.5% in fall 2023. Second-year retention reached an all-time high at nearly 90%.
“Students continue to be drawn to The University of Alabama and the world-class opportunities and support afforded here,” Stuart Bell, University of Alabama president, said. “In the end, it’s the Alabama experience, the strength of our faculty, expanding research, and incredible resources and facilities that make students want to enroll at UA to pursue a meaningful degree.”
