The Conecuh County Coroner’s Office identified the two men killed in a house fire early Wednesday.

James Hensley II, age 19, and Mark Mostellar, age 21, both of Mobile, were pronounced dead on the scene at 1:30 a.m. The two were reportedly fraternity brothers at the University of Alabama and were on a hunting trip when the fire occurred.

Fire crews responded to the home on Stowers Timberland Road in Evergreen and learned four people were inside at the time of the incident. Two others escaped the fire and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

St. Paul’s Episcopal School held a gathering on Wednesday evening to remember Hensley, who graduated from the school last year. Mostellar graduated from UMS-Wright.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the coroner’s office, the Evergreen Police Department and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office.
