The Value in Electing Women Political Action Committee (VIEWPAC) has officially endorsed Caroleene Dobson, one of the few Republican candidates running in the newly drawn second congressional district in the 2024 election.

The Montgomery-based attorney was the first Republican to announce her candidacy for the seat, which is expected to be a shoo-in for any of the 13 Democratic candidates running.

VIEWPAC was founded in 1997 by female Republican members of Congress and professional women to "help elect qualified, viable Republican women to Congress."

"Caroleene Dobson's steadfast commitment to the values of Alabama's families, farms, and fundamental principles embodies the spirit and purpose of VIEWPAC," said VIEWPAC executive director Julie Conway. "Her exceptional background and Alabama roots make her the best candidate to represent the interests and integrity of Alabama's 2nd Congressional District. We are confident that she will serve as an influential voice for her constituents and a dynamic force in Congress."

Dobson attended Harvard University, earning a history and literature degree. She later obtained her law degree from Baylor University Law School. She is a member of the Alabama Forestry Commission, is active in the Birmingham chapter of the Federalist Society and serves on the board of the Southeastern Livestock Exposition.

Primary elections for both parties will be held on March 5, 2024, with a possible runoff election on April 16, 2024.
