Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed might need to stick to his day job after a dismal first pitch attempt for the Montgomery Biscuits on Tuesday.
Reed was tasked with the ceremonial first pitch for the Biscuits' home opener at the newly renamed DABOS Park, home of the AA affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays.
When introduced, Reed was met with mild clapping and an emphatic "BOO!"
Although the catcher was positioned in front of home plate for the ceremonial pitch, Reed's soft throw was still well short of the catcher and bounced before deflecting off the catcher's mitt.

His feeble throw was also received with displeasure from the fans.
