U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) is all smiles standing next to Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato in a mailpiece that hit voters' mailboxes on Thursday, just days before the August 26 municipal elections. However, despite appearances, Britt has not endorsed Brocato.
"We have not endorsed in that race, and will not be endorsing in that race," her office stated. The office also confirmed that Britt did not give her permission to Brocato for his campaign to use her image.
The image on the mail piece was from an event on November 3, 2023, and it first appeared on the mayor's Facebook page, with a message that said, "It was wonderful to hear from Senator Katie Boyd Britt today at the Pelham Civic Center, sponsored by The Shelby County Chamber. Senator Britt shared her Washington update. I'm grateful for her leadership in the Senate."
