State Rep. Wes Kitchens (R-Arab) announced his first TV media buy on Tuesday in the special Senate election for District 9. The ad "Our Conservative Voice" runs on TV and digital in Madison, Marshall and Blount Counties.
The ad emphasizes Kitchens' six-year conservative voting record as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives. Kitchens touts voting to cut taxes, voting to end Joe Biden's woke agenda, and keeping radical liberal policies out of our homes, schools, and churches.
In a statement, Kitchens said, "I’m very proud of my conservative voting record." Adding, “I’ve done my best to represent the values of my district in Montgomery. This ad is just a snapshot of my family and my record in the Legislature, but if you know me, you know these are not just hollow promises. I love my family and the communities where we make our homes.”
His statement also emphasizes that since being elected in 2018. Kitchens has held several leadership roles in the legislature. His legislative peers selected him to serve as Vice-Chair of the Alabama Republican House Caucus. He served as co-chair of the Alabama Pre-K Commission, which oversees our state’s nationally recognized pre-k programs, and he is the Chairman of the Marshall County Republican Party.
Kitchens has two challengers in the primary: fellow House member State Rep. Brock Colvin (R-Albertville) and local political activist Stacy George. If no candidate receives a majority vote on Election Day, the race will go to a run-off.
The special Republican primary election is on January 9, 2024.
