The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into the deaths of two teenagers in Wilcox County.
The bodies of a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were found Saturday near Ralph Ervin Road in Pine Hill. Investigators said both juveniles had gunshot wounds. WKRG reported the victims have been identified as Keyontae McCall and Kalisha Buson.
The pair was reported missing on November 17.
Thomasville City Schools said one of the victims was a student.
"This is a heartbreaking loss for our entire school community," the school system stated. "Our focus is on supporting our students, staff, and families as we grieve together."
"Our sincere thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families and friends of those who lost their lives due to these senseless acts of violence," said Thomasville Mayor Sheldon Day.
Courtney Anderson, 27, of Thomasville, was arrested and charged with capital murder. Anderson was placed in the Wilcox County Jail. Anderson is considered innocent until proven guilty.
All information will be presented to the Wilcox County District Attorney's Office.
