HB30 is not a partisan gimmick or bureaucratic overreach. It’s a common-sense measure requiring counties to conduct post-election audits after every general election.

It is time to adopt commonsense honest election protections that work because Alabama cannot afford to shortchange its democracy.

Legislation that stalled in the 2024 legislative session that would mandate random post-election audits has been pre-filed for 2025.

A video of a vote tabulation machine accepting multiple copies of the same, rough-cut paper ballot during a public test in 2022 went viral and caused a stir at polls across the state. Angela Shepherd, the Auburn native and poll worker who shot the video, said that was when she realized how bad the issue really was.

"We will fight for our right to hold free and fair elections to make sure Alabama does not become a cesspool for voter fraud.," said Patriots First Alabama.
