The Auburn defense has been dealt a serious blow following the LSU game, as Bryan Harsin confirmed that Eku Leota suffered a pectoral injury and will have surgery on Tuesday.

Second halves have defined the Bryan Harsin Era at Auburn, and not in the way they should. For the second game in a row, the Tigers(3-2) failed to score any points in the second half, and the fourth time in their last five Power Five games. 

After the drubbing by Penn State last Saturday, most of Auburn turned its attention to Missouri as a possible bounce-back game for an offense that has struggled to find its identity against a defense that seems outmatched. 

It is the Monday before SEC football begins for the Auburn Tigers, and the quarterback situation appears to be open according to head coach Bryan Harsin.

This was Auburn’s worst loss at Jordan-Hare Stadium since the much-maligned 2012 season, when the Tigers were shut out by Georgia 38-0. 

Bryan Harsin didn’t wait for any questions about the attempts to push him out as Auburn’s football coach last February. Instead, he took care of that by himself during his time at the podium on the final day of SEC Media Days at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
