
The Christmas shopping season is off to a record start despite the best efforts of left-wing groups trying to boycott retailers that don’t sufficiently oppose the Trump administration.

The Alabama Retail Association projects holiday spending this year will reach $18.74 billion – an increase from last year’s $18 billion. Although growth is expected, it's only a small percentage of growth due to another interest rate hike and government budget uncertainty.

Last Friday was Black Friday, perhaps the most important day of the year for retailers when holiday shoppers kick off their Christmas-shopping season by flocking early to local retail centers to partake in special sales and deals.
