
With multiple data centers now opening across Alabama, the Athens City Council addressed community concerns regarding the possibility of such facilities being constructed in the municipality's limits.

A bipartisan coalition of Alabama legislators in both the House and Senate unveiled on Thursday the Alabama Affordability Protection Plan — a three-bill reform package “designed to safeguard Alabama families and businesses from rising utility costs and undue political influence, all without increasing taxes or rates.”
