Divorce is a wound. I will not prettify it into something fashionable or therapeutic. Some losses remain losses forever. The best you can do is refuse to let them become the only story your children inherit.

The family is a small nation, and the more we have of these tiny nations, functioning properly and refusing to break apart, the more we as a large nation are able to resist tyranny, government overreach, and other breaches of our freedom.

Whether or not Hollywood dies a slow natural death on its own – as it seems to currently be doing – or if it’s killed off by tariffs as many movie executives fear, it has accomplished a lot in terms of influence over the years … for better or for worse.

State Rep. Patrick Sellers (D-Birmingham) recently pre-filed legislation to hopefully increase the number of joint custody agreements awarded in divorce cases in Alabama.

The older I get, the more frequently I see that marriage has lost the reverence it once held. To many, divorce is the best option when things just don’t seem to be working anymore.

“It sounds like a plot from a Hallmark movie,” he says. “But that’s how it all happened.”
