A new fire station will improve protection on the Foley’s north side, according to officials. The City is planning to build a fourth fire station on East Fern Avenue.

The City of Foley celebrated the opening of the state’s 20th Safe Haven Baby Box on Friday. The box is installed at Fire Station 1 and allows struggling mothers to surrender their newborns for up to 45 days after giving birth, no questions asked.

Foley is among the top 10 fastest-growing cities in the nation and to address demand, the Foley Fire Department is expanding and building a new station.

A bill passed this year in Alabama will allow for baby boxes to be placed across the state, and one of them is going to Baldwin County.
