Auburn University: ‘Group of juveniles’ likely responsible for Haley Center vandalism reported as potential hate crime, ‘motive is unclear’

Auburn University communications director Preston Sparks responded to a request for comment from Monday pertaining to an act of vandalism at the school’s Haley Center that was reported as a potential hate crime and said a group of juveniles is likely responsible.

Auburn University reported a potential hate crime on Sunday afternoon, which reports claim resulted in damaged office property. Reports also claimed “racial and gender-based slurs” were written on a whiteboard.
