As is its first official act following the contentious Speaker race, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill Monday night with the help of Alabama's delegation to strip the IRS of new funding for 87,000 new agents.
U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) introduced the Bureaucrats to the Border Act last week to require new Internal Revenue Service enforcement personnel hired through the so-called Inflation Reduction Act to complete a 30-day detail supporting Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the southern border.
Concerns are raised as President Joe Biden is expected to sign a bill into law that would double the number of IRS personnel over the next 10 years.
