We are too trusting of our suspicions, too swift in our accusations, too flippant and too proud in our judgments – and much too distracted and bewildered by the churn of the digital deluge to connect it to something real or enduring. In this way, we have failed to find rest, day after restless day.
Somewhere in the shuffle, your soul starts whispering what your calendar won’t say out loud: You need to take a break.
Our nation is divided, there is no doubt about it. But what would happen if more of us turned off the TV and the radio, if we quit or dialed-back social media, and used our time instead to “root our being,” discern wisdom, and find peace?
We tend to spend too much time reflecting on politics, the problems of life and the opinions of others. While it is important to be a part of those things, we can’t let those things become us as a part of our innermost beings!
Whether you’re post-op or pummeled by something else – work, life – all the things will be here when you return. Please. Take a break while you still have a chance.
