Under the new court-imposed map, the seventh congressional district includes Sewell-strongholds Dallas and Perry Counties. This gives her a distinct advantage over any candidate, especially from Birmingham, attempting to run against Sewell in the 2024 Democrat primary.
“I’m so proud to have helped secure millions of dollars in funding for local projects in our district! The funding for these projects responds directly to the needs of our communities, which is why I fought so hard for its inclusion.," said Rep. Sewell.
The purpose of the group is to work on legislation to strengthen incentives and expand pathways to savings for workers who lack access to employer-sponsored retirement plans.
